Through experience, I have learned that if you want to have a better selection then choose your vacation rental cabin early. Make a reservation in March or at least by April if you plan to travel in June, July or August. Many times, my husband and I have pulled into a nice state park with the intentions to go sight seeing, only to find there were no cabins or spaces available for rent. Disappointment at 6 pm after a long road trip is not an emotion to cherish during a vacation trip.
